Jane Ballin West is an American Artist who currently lives in Charlottesville, VA. Jane credits her artistic career to her life-long exposure to art and architecture, a deep faith and TOTAL lack of understanding. Jane grew up in a house filled with interesting and beautiful things, lived in London as a young adult, and later in life fell in love with New York City where she frequents and finds great inspiration.
Jane is primarily a self-taught artist. Although, she has had the benefit of learning under accomplished contemporary artists; given her connection and proximity to the University of Oregon.
Jane has shown her work in several galleries from Eugene to Seattle, and she has a piece in the permanent collection at the University of Oregon. She has also had the pleasure of donating her work to many charitable auctions over the years including: The University of Oregon Art Museum, American Red Cross, The Festival of Trees, The Relief Nursery, Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, Hosea Youth Services, several Oregon public and private schools and The High Desert Museum.
